Kids being online, are they asking for trouble or is it helping them to mature into more socially rounded people?

This article is not a new topic, we have been aware of the dangers of the world wide web for years. Whether it is hot or not it is coming out in our research as one of the no. 1 things children spend doing in their free time or would like to do in the future.
With more highly addictive social networking sites than ever before are children exposing themselves to the predators of the ‘big bad web’ or are they aware of these dangers and is it contributing to their social development? Only the other week did I hear about a bullying incident involving myspace and msn, does this prove that it is a contributing resource?
Our play blog is a fantastic tool to get children involved with their play strategy and get their play project ideas, feedback and general input. Without this resource we would not get this highly valuable child’s perspective and in turn the play strategy would not be as successful.
