Civic Trust: Consumers and products of tomorrow

The Civic Trust asked Erskine to investigate the opportunities to create more diverse town centre evening economies. The study was part of a three year research programme the Trust delivered for government and private sector sponsors.

The study considered the views of twenty urban and evening economy experts and reviewed government policy, academic research and best practice. We also examined how population and consumer trends might create demand for new products and services in the evening economy of the future.

The opportunities identified by the study for creating more diverse evening economies were presented to the Trust and the Government and numerous conferences. They also form a cornerstone of the Civic Trust’s new ‘Night Vision’ programme – an award scheme for quality evening economy town centres.

We are very pleased with the final product. You have responded to our original brief over and above our original expectations, the final report is a very thorough and comprehensive reply to the question we originally posed in our briefing.
