Erskine was asked by Yorkshire. Forward, the regional development agency, to ‘carry out an assessment of the business needs of Settle and the potential for a business centre to support businesses in Settle and its hinterland’.

London Borough of Richmond on Thames: Evening economy study

In 2005 the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames was considering implementing a ‘Cumulative Impact Policy’ (i.e. a restriction on new pubs, bars and clubs opening in its town centres). This can be done if there is evidence that new premises would compromise the four licensing objectives of the Licensing Act 2003. The aim of this project was to objectively examine if evidence did exist for such a policy.

Civic Trust: Consumers and products of tomorrow

The Civic Trust asked Erskine to investigate the opportunities to create more diverse town centre evening economies. The study was part of a three year research programme the Trust delivered for government and private sector sponsors.

We were asked to undertake a comprehensive survey to identify capital funding sources for an extension to a Sure Start building and a community building owned by a church that also housed a Sure Start nursery.

Castle Morpeth Borough Council: Castles, Woods & Water

Following a successful bid to the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister’s Liveability fund, Castle Morpeth Borough Council asked Erskine to help develop a community driven masterplan for the river corridor from Mitford through historic market town Morpeth to Bothal.
